Introducing AMTA-Member Carolyn Roeder of Omaha, NE, one of this year’s Nebraska Chapter's IMPACT MAKERS.

Where do you practice:  Massage Envy-Aksarben Center in Omaha, NE

What Massage Modalities do you practice: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Sports, Pregnancy, Chair, Energy Work, Myofascial Release, Spa Treatments, etc.

How do you spend time outside of work: Preparing food, lots of cleaning, and quality time with the ones I love!

How do you promote the massage therapy profession in your community: Almost everyone I meet (or know) is in need of Massage Therapy, so all I have to do is mention what I do! Also, Massage Envy has a really great reputation and we get a lot of referrals through word of mouth.

In what ways do you participate in your community:   I volunteer at my son's school and help in the church nursery and preschool program. I have volunteered at the USA swim trials and donated chair massages to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Last spring we helped those affected by the tornadoes. We were on the scene helping them recover their personal items.

Do you have any words of wisdom to share that have helped you in your career:  It's OK if your career doesn't look like everyone else's. Go at your own pace, listen to your body, and know your priorities. Your career will go through seasons of change.
