We are incredibly proud to announce a powerful new partnership between AMTA Nebraska and the 50 Mile March Foundation (www.50milemarch.org)! This incredible organization is dedicated to empowering veterans facing mental health challenges and homelessness, providing vital support and fostering a community of hope.

The centerpiece of their efforts is the annual 50 Mile March, a challenging and inspiring event that begins in Lincoln on August 23rd and culminates in Omaha on August 24th.

Our Role in Supporting the Marchers

AMTA-NE has already had the privilege of connecting with the marchers. We participated in a qualifying event on April 12th, where we shared valuable information about how massage therapy can significantly aid in their training and recovery programs.

Now, we're taking our support a step further! In collaboration with the 50 Mile March Foundation, AMTA-NE aims to support these dedicated participants by offering discounted massage therapy services from our members statewide.

Here's how you can get involved:

  • Offer Discounted Services: As an LMT, you decide the details: the discount amount, the dates you'll offer it, and how many participants you can accept. If you're interested, please click HERE.

  • Your details will be compiled into a real-time directory, making it easy for marchers to find an LMT in their area. You can see the design for the QR code shared with marchers back in April HERE.

Volunteer Opportunities at the March

We're also seeking dedicated volunteers for the day of the 50 Mile March itself! On August 24, 2025, from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM, there will be a 90-minute stop at the Cass County Fairgrounds. We need volunteers to offer foot massage, chair massage, and assist with stretching on 2-3 massage tables to help marchers prepare for the final leg of their journey. If you're interested, please click HERE.

We are incredibly excited to be part of this impactful initiative and look forward to working together to make a positive difference in the lives of our veterans.
