Are you a Nebraska AMTA member looking to further your professional growth in massage therapy? We have exciting news that could help you achieve your continuing education goals! Thanks to the incredible generosity of Deb Parker, a retiring 35-year AMTA member and Licensed Massage Therapist, the AMTA-NE chapter is thrilled to announce the formation of the AMTA-NE Continuing Education Scholarship Fund. Deb's donation is specifically intended to provide financial support for current LMT/AMTA-NE members to pursue their lifelong learning.

Are you eligible? To apply, you must:

  • Be a graduate or professional member in good standing with the AMTA.

  • Hold current membership with the AMTA Nebraska Chapter.

  • Hold a current Nebraska Massage Therapy license and be in good standing.

  • Not have received this scholarship within the current fiscal year.

What to Expect on the Application: Beyond your basic contact and AMTA member information, you'll be asked to thoughtfully respond to a few questions designed to understand your motivation and goals, such as:

  • How do you believe attending this class/event will support the next stage of your massage therapy professional growth journey, and why is this opportunity meaningful to you right now?

  • What goals or information do you hope to achieve/learn and then bring back to share with your clients, peers, or local community after attending?

  • What challenges have you faced, professionally or personally, regarding your continuing education? What strategies or motivation have you developed to overcome them?

Want to Make an Impact? Join the Scholarship Committee! We're also forming a brand-new Scholarship Committee to help shape the future of this fund. Committee members will mainly review applications, select award recipients, and communicate decisions to the chapter board. If you're a current member interested in helping make a difference in other LMTs' educational pursuits, please reach out to Becky Ohlson at beckyo@amtane.org. Your ideas and collaboration will be invaluable! Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to advance your education and career. Apply today or consider joining our new committee! For any application questions, please contact communications@amtane.org.

National AMTA Convention: This year, the scholarship is offering financial assistance for Nebraska AMTA members to attend the National AMTA Convention in Dallas, TX. Recipients will receive $400 to put towards registration, hotel, or travel expenses for the convention. If you've already paid, don't worry, the chapter will reimburse you with a provided receipt!

Ready to apply? The application period is open from July 1st to July 31st, 2025. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of 2-3 AMTA-NE members, and scholarship recipients will be notified by August 10th, 2025.

Sharpen Your Practice: Announcing the AMTA Nebraska Ethics Class Scholarship! Are you a Nebraska AMTA member looking to bolster your ethical framework and protect your massage therapy practice? We have fantastic news that could help you attend our upcoming Ethics Class!

This scholarship provides an online registration code to cover the $15 class fee for the AMTA-NE Ethics Class, "Protecting Your Practice." You'll have the flexibility to choose either the in-person session on September 14th or the Zoom session on September 28th. The application period is open until August 17th, and scholarship recipients will be notified by August 25th.
